Though I wear my hearty New Englander badge with pride, rolling my eyes ever so slightly as the less hearty grumble and fuss, there’s no denying what a treat it is to be able to escape.
This past February I hosted my second Maui workshop, this time at the serene and beautiful Lumeria Retreat. Participants came from Boston, Virginia, New York, Chicago, Maui and China. Modeled on last year’s workshop, we spent three days deeply immersed in flower design, and in particular, my take on it. Incorporating gorgeous orchids and anthuriums (a new surprise favorite) from the Big Island, fruits, foliage and vines from Maui, and early spring flowers from California, everyone created truly beautiful arrangements. As well, I believe they gained a deeper understanding of my approach, taking from it what was useful for them. It was, once again, such a privilege to teach what I know and share what I love.
